History Of Graham Douglas Law School Inside Port Harcourt

The flag of the law school was on the 4th of June 2021. The lying of the foundation stones was on 17th June 2021. After 10 months, Graham Douglas Campus of Nigeria Law School was built.

The name of this institution was selected after the late Hon. Justice Graham Douglas who was a former Chief Justice of Nigeria and served with distinction during his illustrious career as an attorney general, minister of justice and chairman/governor of Rivers State College of Advanced Legal Studies (RSCALS).

The site was once occupied by state school of nursing, overtime became swampy, which was the situation when the civil work on the law school campus started 17th June 2021.

How much was the cost of the project

The project cost Rivers State Government a total of N17 billion. The reason the Rivers State government was able to carry out the project was because President Buhari had graciously approved the payment and release of unpaid 13 percent derivation deductions since 1999 to all states in the Niger Delta. This information was disclose by the Rivers State Governor Wike at the commissioning of the project on the 18th of November 2022.

What Facilities Are In Graham Douglas Nigeria Law School

The Graham Douglas Campus of Nigeria Law School has a well-equipped library, which has a collection of books; journals and magazines. The library also houses computers with internet access.

The newly built law school has 15 buildings, which include a 700 capacity cafeteria, a moot court, and a 1,638 capacity three-storey class room block.

There are five hotels to house about 1,350 plus 1,638 students library, 1500 capacity auditorium and standby power plant.

The lecture halls are spacious and equipped with audio visual aids as well as microphones for use during lectures by professors or students. Lectures are held in two floor rooms at the school auditorium. There is also an amphitheatre where students can watch plays put on by acting groups..

Students have access to hostels that include double occupancy rooms with attached bathrooms, kitchen facilities and laundry services all fully provided.

The campus is safe, well-lit and has many facilities available. It is also clean. Since its a newly built structure. It has the best facilities. The campus is a good place to study as well as make friends.
