President Mohammadu Buhari To Unveil The New Naira Note On Wednesday

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari will unveil the new naira currency notes and coins on Wednesday.

Godwin Emefiele, the governor of CBN, made this known during a press briefing on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said: “In line with our tradition, it would be unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday this week.”

In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, the CBN said: “The Central Bank will be unveiling a new series of banknotes with security features at its headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday.”

He said that they have been working hard to ensure that the new Naira notes and coins were ready for circulation before they were introduced into circulation. The governor also said that their task was complicated because there were several issues which needed attention before the launch of these new currencies could be effected at all levels starting from production through distribution to consumers who would benefit from them.

He said: “In line with our tradition, it would be unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday this week.”

The new Naira note and coin will be unveiled on Wednesday by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The banknote series, which is expected to be issued this week, will feature a portrait of the president along with his signature at the bottom right corner of each note. It will also include his name as well as that of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other national leaders.

The new naira notes will be unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday at about 3pm. He will give an inaugural speech before the first anniversary of his government. The central bank governor, Godwin Emefiele, said that N50bn was being printed for distribution to the public in September as part of measures to improve credibility among Nigerians.
