The San Francisco 49ers have clinched the NFC West in their latest win, this time over the Seattle Seahawks. The effort was enough to earn Brock Purdy his first career start and lead the team to its sixth straight victory.

The 49ers became the first team in NFL history to clinch a division title after trailing by at least 17 points in back-to-back games.

The 49ers were down 17-0 at halftime. They were down 17-3 in the second quarter, 24-7 in the third and 24-14 with just under nine minutes to play when they made history by scoring 33 unanswered points to clinch their seventh division title in a row.

The Seahawks were a perfect 4-0 at home this season against their divisional foes (Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle), but last week’s loss to these same 49ers was a tough one for them too.

It was also the 49ers’ seventh consecutive victory.

And it gave Purdy his fifth career start, which tied him for second in franchise history with Jim Plunkett (1970-71). He completed 23 of 29 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle, one that came on a throwback to himself from the two-yard line late in the fourth quarter after he had been sacked by Michael Bennett.

The 49ers are 11-1 after being 8-0 to start last season and missing the playoffs.

The 49ers are 11-1 after being 8-0 to start last season and missing the playoffs. They’ve clinched the NFC West, which is no small feat considering they went 7-9 last year. Their only loss came against a team that has never won a Super Bowl or conference championship before: Seattle Seahawks (who beat them in Week 9).

And while Sunday’s game wasn’t quite as dramatic as previous matchups between these two teams—with both winning by three points—it was still one of those rare moments where you can say “man, this game was close.” The 49ers seemed destined for victory until late in the fourth quarter when Russell Wilson threw back-to-back touchdown passes (the second one coming with just under two minutes left on the clock) to fullback Will Tukuafu and receiver Doug Baldwin respectively.

It’s been a remarkable turnaround for San Francisco, which lost Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas, Jimmy Garoppolo and Raheem Mostert early in the season.

It’s been a remarkable turnaround for San Francisco, which lost Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas and Jimmy Garoppolo early in the season. Injuries to those players have opened up opportunities for several other players on defense—and they’ve taken full advantage.

The 49ers have scored at least 30 points in all but one game this season, including three games with 40 or more points scored against Seattle and Arizona. They’ve also won six straight games dating back to last year when they beat Carolina in Week 16 to secure their spot atop our power rankings for 2018!

Then the 49ers were ravaged by COVID-19.

The 49ers were devastated by the deadly COVID-19 virus.

The team lost a lot of players to the virus, and they were able to overcome it. They won despite losing key players such as Jimmy Garoppolo and Jerick McKinnon.

The San Francisco 49ers have won their seventh straight game and clinched the NFC West division title.

The 49ers defeated the Seattle Seahawks, 26-24, Sunday in Week 13 of the NFL season to clinch their first division title since 2013. They are 11-1 after being 8-0 to start last season and missing out on a playoff berth by one game.
