The people’s democratic party has called on the president to immediately check the incessant hike in fuel price, accusing him of lacking the political will to control the scourge. The PDP, through its Stakeholders, described as shameful and “lack of political will” on the part of President Buhari to be consistently being misled that there was a deregulation in the downstream oil sector. Nevertheless, it said it was not surprised because of what it called “his fundamental predisposition” toward insensitivity and lack of capacity to respond to issues affecting Nigerians. The stakeholders also said in a statement on Monday that the President had since inception deliberately refused to take responsibility for protecting Nigerians from economic strangulation by those he referred to as ‘conspirators and political merchants’

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately check the incessant hike in fuel price, accusing him of lacking the political will to control the scourge.

The party’s Coordinating Secretary, Mr. Tony Nwobodo disclosed this at a press conference held in Port Harcourt on Monday when he said that it was time for Nigerians to speak out against what they termed as an attempt by some unscrupulous individuals who wanted to enslave our people through high cost of petroleum products which have been beyond their reach due to low income levels and other reasons.

The PDP, through its Stakeholders, described as shameful and “lack of political will” on the part of President Buhari to be consistently being misled that there was a deregulation in the downstream oil sector.

The PDP called on President Muhammadu Buhari to tackle fuel station selling above N350 before it exploded into massive protests by Nigerians across Nigeria.

The PDP, however, said it was not surprised because of what it called “his fundamental predisposition” toward insensitivity and lack of capacity to respond to issues affecting Nigerians.

It said: “His fundamental predisposition towards insensitivity and lack of capacity to respond is consistent with his conduct in the past during which he has been consistently misled by those around him into believing that they are doing things for him when they are only interested in serving their own interests at the expense of Nigeria.

The stakeholders also said in a statement on Monday that the President had since inception deliberately refused to take responsibility for protecting Nigerians from the economic strangulation by those he referred to as “conspirators and political merchants.”

According to them, “the Federal Government has failed in its duty to protect Nigerians from economic strangulation by those it referred to as ‘conspirators and political merchants.’”

We therefore call on President Muhammadu Buhari to address this issue as soon as possible since it has become a serious concern for Nigerians especially those living within Rivers State where most people depend on motorcycles or cars for transportation”.
