How Nigerians are Reacting Over Bank ATM not Dispensing The New Naira Notes

Following the recent directive from the CBN to banks operatives to start issuing out the new naira notes across their branches. With this development, CBN has also sent final warnings to its customers not to wait till 31st before they can deposit their N200, N500 & N1000 banknotes to their banks or agent.

With the above case, Nigerians are worried over the non compliance of banks and there ATM not dispensing the new naira notes.

A Port Harcourt resident who reported to our research team “Pitakwa Talk Your Own” how he went to his bank to make some withdrawals, only for the bank ATM to dispense the old naira notes, which the CBN has instructed all banks to stop issuing out the old currency and start dispensing the new naira notes.

The Governor of CBN Godswill Enefiele during the lunching of the new naira notes, listed out the security features of the notes, according to Enefiele, the new notes are hand engraved portraits & window metallic security thread with CBN inscription. Other features include optical variable ink, see through printing in register, and a raised intaglio print at the front.

This security features according to CBN Governor, will help Nigerians to quickly spot out the fake version of the new naira notes.

Following the latest development of the new naira notes, Pitakwa residents are extremely worried over banks not dispensing the N200, N500 & N1000 that has been made available by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

In a report from our eye witness, who confirmed that a lot of Port Harcourt residents, now prefer to use the POS Agents, which they believe have the new naira notes.
