Nigeria Banks to Operate, Saturday & Sunday to Beat the 31st Deadline

Following the recent decision made by CBN, that all banks nationwide, should stop accepting the old naira notes, on the 31st of January 2023. With this recent development, banks across the states witnessed a high numbers of customers on Friday, most of which are seeking to deposit there old naira notes.

On Friday Banks across the country, couldn’t attend to all of it customers, with this development, Nigeria Banks on Friday announced that they would operate on Saturday and Sunday to attend to the needs of the customers before the deadline given to the CBN Governor.

For more clarity on the rumors that the Nigerian Government has extended the deadline to April, for the deposit of the old naira notes, the CBN Governor, through its media reporters, announced that there is no going back on the deadline day announced by Enefiele. The board further said that Nigerians should take advantage of the 2 days working holidays extended by the banks.

The banks across the states would operate

Saturday 28th January, Time 9am – 3pm

Sunday 29th January, Time 10am – 2pm

The CBN Governor through its media team, further advised all the general public to take advantage of the latest development, which the board has made their final decision that there would be no going back.

All currencies (N200, N500, N1000) not deposited before the 31st of January would not be accepted anymore.
