Abiye Sekibo Escape Assassination Attack, Accuses Gov Wike for Wrong Doings

Former Minister of transportation, Abiye Sekibo escaped assassination in port harcourt on Friday. Abiye who is a loyalist of Atiku, and a backbone of the PDP Presidential council escaped assassination in Port Harcourt.

Following the recent assassination, Atiku’s supporters has accused Governor Wike to be behind his assassination.

The president of Ijaw youth council has condemned the Attack of their political Rivers leader Mr Abiye and warned those behind the acts to retrieve from their wrong doings

Police PPRO when contacted said upon the arrival of his men, the suspects ran away. The PPRO said the suspects were fraud stars. Sekibo said if nothing is done to fetch them, he will take laws into his hands

The Former Minister of transportation, Abiye Sekibo escaped assassination in port harcourt on Friday.

According to reports from sources close to the matter, Sekibo was attacked by armed men on his way to the Rivers State House of Assembly.

As you may know, Governor Wike has earlier renounce Abiye Sekibo and his supporters from claiming to be a PDP member in the state. The Governor made this statement last year and accused Abiye of playing anti-party activity in the State

The former Minister escaped unhurt but has blamed the attack on Governor Wike and called for him to be arrested for attempted murder.

Sekibo said that he would not be afraid of Wike or any other politician or person who wants to kill him because he has nothing to lose at this stage in life.

The incident happened in Port Harcourt after he attended a rally held by the party ahead of next February 25th elections. Sekibo was shot at while exiting his car with his wife and children when gunmen opened fire on them with AK47 rifles before escaping unhurt from the attack.

The chairman of the body, said he was shocked by what happened adding that he had been informed that gunfire’s were shoot during the incident.”I condemn this act and urge those responsible for this heinous crime to stop using firearms as weapons against our people,” he stated; calling for justice for all victims involved in such attacks across Nigeria not only among Ijaws but also other ethnic groups too.”We want our leaders to be respected in their roles so they can serve us well,” he said while appealing Nigerians everywhere including security operatives not to hesitate when they encounter anyone carrying arms illegally which could result into unnecessary loss of lives especially among children playing around schools without any protection from parents or guardians who might have left them unattended at any time.”We are calling on all Nigerians irrespective whether from Bayelsa State (where this incident occurred) or outside Nigeria not just those living abroad but also native born citizens living within its boundaries wherever located around world with different ethnic backgrounds “Do not hold grudges against each other because we believe our country needs peace rather than violence”

Police PRO when contacted said upon the arrival of his men, the suspects ran away. The PPRO said the suspects were fraud stars who had been arrested at a different location by other police officers before being transferred. The PPRO said his men are still investigating the incident.

Sekibo said if nothing is done to fetch the suspects, they are going to take laws into their hands.

He also urged politicians and police officers who had been involved in corrupt activities to come forward before it’s too late for them.
