Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Cristian Stellini as their interim manager, a day after they were hammered 6-1 at Newcastle United. Former Antonio Conte assistant set to leave the club after internal meeting at Spurs in the morning.

Stellini will be replaced by coach Ryan Mason, the club confirmed on Monday.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said in a statement: “Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff.

“Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.”
Spurs are currently in fifth place on the Premier League table with 53 points after 32 games, six behind fourth-place Manchester United, who also have two games in hand.
Stellini took over following the exit last month of Antonio Conte.
