Corrupt politicians planning to flee before May 29 – EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has raised the alarm that some governors and politicians, accused of corruption, have perfected plans to flee the country ahead of the May 29, 2023 inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
The Governor-elect, senators-elect, the House of Representatives and state Houses Assembly members-elect will be inaugurated the same day.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, who disclosed the plans of some politicians to escape to other countries in a statement issued on Friday night, said the EFCC is presently in collaboration with its foreign partners to frustrate the plans of the said governors and politicians.

The commission promised that all political actors involved in corruption while in public office must be brought to justice.
The statement read partly, “Again, the Commission wishes to alert the public about plans by some of the alleged corrupt politically exposed persons to flee the country ahead of May 29.

“The Commission is working in close collaboration with its international partners to frustrate these escape plans and bring those involved to justice.”
