Senator Akpabio was subsequently sworn in as the President of the Senate for the 10th National Assembly on Tuesday the 13th June 2023, succeeding Senator Ahmad Lawan, who is also a member of the 10th Senate.
Chief Allwell Onyesoh represented Rivers State in the East Senatorial District.
After the swearing ceremony, Chief Allwell Onyesoh in a statement issued by his Personal Assistant Godspower Chioma Egbule Esq, promise to deliver quality project to Rivers East.
According to Chief Allwell, Modern democracies are characterized by shared decision making by the legislative and executive branches. While the day to day running of government is vested in the Executive, the Legislature plays a crucial role of making new laws, change existing laws and repeal laws which are no longer needed, represent and articulate the views and wishes of the citizens in decision making processes and perform oversight functions over the executive so that the government is accountable to the people.
Achieving good governance requires the existence of a strong, effective and efficient Legislature. As a result of their lawmaking, representation and oversight functions, members of the Legislature can actively engage in the development and implementation of laws and policies that promote good governance.
Because of the crucial role members of the National Assembly play in the development of our Nation, the people of Rivers East Senatorial District chose a very competent voice, a man of character and pedigree to represent the District in the 10th National Assembly. Widely accepted as the man who the cap fits because of his previous sterling records, and the crooner of “A Voice For All” Chief Allwell Onyesoh is poised to offer effective representation to his Constituents.
Educational Background Of Chief Allwell Onyesoh
University of Jos, Plateau State trained English Language graduate and Ex Lecturer, Chief Allwell Onyesoh has become the focus of Rivers contingent to the 10th National Assembly. The Etche born politician, tall looking, brilliant administrator and political tactician and popularly called the “OCTOPUS” Chief Allwell Onyesoh has launched himself effectively in the political trajectory of Rivers State.
Chief Allwell Heacho Onyesoh started his early education at State School Okomoko/Egwi/Umuanyagu. He graduated from the Communications Arts department of University of Jos, Plateau State. Chief Allwell Onyesoh was appointed Commissioner for Education from 1999 to 2003 and Commissioner for Sports from 2003 to 2007.
