The Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz main card begins now. First up, welterweights Angel Beltran and Alan Sanchez.
Angel Beltran vs. Alan Sanchez
Round 1: Beltran advancing with his jab. Sanchez throws out a wide counter, to get Beltran’s attention. Beltran with a good shot to the body. Looks like Sanchez is just looking to land with power as Beltran walks him down. Sanchez swinging at air. There’s a jab by Sanchez. Right hand lands for Sanchez. There’s an exchange at the bell, not a ton to score there.

Round 2: Beltran lands a hard left hook and Sanchez felt that one. Beltran pressing forward. Sanchez starts with a trio of punches to the body, but he eats a left hook for his troubles. They trade jabs. Sanchez staying busy. He’s sticking the body. More good jabs from Sanchez. Beltran scores with a straight right. They trade body shots. Beltran scoring to the head. Beltran on the attack to end the round, but he walks into a Sanchez combination. Fun round!

Round 3: Sanchez opens the fight with a right hand. Beltran throwing with power as he chases Sanchez. Right hand bangs against Beltran’s head. Beltran lands a couple of good shots, Sanchez answers with a pair of counters. Sanchez to the body again. He’s picked up the pace considerably after Round 1. Beltran looking for an opening to land an uppercut. Quick overhand right by Sanchez scores. Beltran lands a clean jab. There’s another right hand score for Sanchez.

Round 4: Sanchez tags Beltran with another good right. Beltran stalks him and connects with a body shot. Sanchez throws a hard right, Beltran responds with a combination. Sanchez’s jab has been effective. Good combination by Sanchez. Beltran scores with an uppercut. There’s a body shot for Beltran. He’s firing, but can’t get out of the way of that Sanchez right. Two hard punches land for Sanchez as Beltran just tries to walk through the offense.

Round 5: Sanchez ducks in for a body shot, Beltran pushes him to the ropes and scores with a couple of good punches. They’re dueling with their jabs. Sanchez with a combination to the body, Beltran answers with a body shot of his own. Slip and rip by Sanchez. Beltran fires an uppercut into the body. Sanchez logs another combo. Good right from Sanchez as Beltran drops the hands, but Beltran fires a right down the pipe. These two are busting each other up. I’ve got Sanchez up all the way, but these are some close rounds.

Round 6: Beltran to the body, Sanchez with a counter combo. Beltran sticking with body work. He’s getting his licks in, but for much of the match his strategy has just been to walk through Sanchez’s punches. A stiff uppercut lands for Beltran. Sanchez stops him in his tracks with a jab. Beltran advances with a combination, Sanchez counters with a left right across the chin. Sanchez with another right hand on the money near the end of the round.

Round 7: Sanchez tags Beltran with a left as he circles. Beltran pumps his jab in Sanchez’s face. Good jab from Sanchez. That has just been giving Beltran a headache all fight. Beltran tags Sanchez with a crisp jab. Both men firing and scoring with straight punches. Sanchez staying busy with the jab. Beltran lands a short left hook. There it is again and Sanchez has to adjust.

Round 8: Beltran goes to the body as he navigates Sanchez’s jab. Sanchez lands another hard right hand. Beltran with the right now. Sanchez hits an uppercut. Sanchez sticks and moves with a left hand to the body. Big punch from Sanchez and Beltran retreats. Sanchez staying patient, he gets in there with two more good punches. Beltran answers with a couple of hard counters, he’s headhunting. Left from Sanchez, then a straight right. Counter right by Beltran. They rip at each other’s bodies and then start throwing with 10 seconds remaining. Great fight!
