Super Eagles Begin World Cup Qualifiers Against Lesotho, Zimbabwe In November
The Nigerian national team will host the Crocodiles of Lesotho for their first game of the qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on November 17, 2023.
The three-time African champions will then travel to Rwanda where they will be hosted by the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on November 20, 2023.
The schedules for the first two games of the World Cup qualifiers was posted on the official X handle of Super Eagles on Wednesday.
Apart from Lesotho and Zimbabwe, Nigeria will also have to face Rwanda, Benin Reuplic and South African in the group C of the African qualifiers.
According to CAF, winners of each Group will automatically qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The four best runners-up (from the Groups) will play in a CAF Play-Off tournament.
The winner of the CAF Play-Off Tournament will play in the FIFA Play-off Tournament to potentially be the 10th African nation.
