Abuja Court Orders The Release Of Emefiele From EFCC Custody
An Abuja High Court has ordered the unconditional and immediate release of the immediate-past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
The court issued the order while ruling on Emefiele’s Ex-parte application seeking his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) pending the hearing and determination of his Originating Motion.
Alternatively, Justice O.A. Adeniyi ordered EFCC to produce him in court on Monday, November 6.
The applicant named the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney-General of the Federation, (AGF) the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, and the EFCC itself as respondents.
