Governor Fubara pledged to support new CP Olatunji Disu in fighting crime

In a recent press conference, Governor Siminalayi Fubara emphasized the importance of tackling crime in the state and pledged his full support to the new commissioner of police, Olatunji Disu.


The Governor acknowledged the challenges faced by law enforcement officials in maintaining peace and order, and emphasized that the government is committed to providing all necessary resources to ensure the safety of citizens. He further urged residents to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity, stressing that community involvement is crucial in the fight against crime. The appointment of Commissioner Disu, who has a proven track record in law enforcement, has been widely applauded and the public is hopeful that his leadership will result in a significant reduction in crime rates.

In his address, the new Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu assured of adopting a proactive policing strategy that will deplore efficient surveillance, mutual trust within the rank and file and from members of the public in protecting lives and property.

CP Disu further assured the governor that he will devote his time to the task of making sure that there is an atmosphere of peace wherein Rivers people feel safer while making it difficult for criminals to operate.
