3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

3.1 Faculty of Management and Social Sciences

3.1.1 Professor

  • Candidates should possess PhD from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Sociology, Criminology, Security Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Intelligence, Mass Communication, Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Taxation, Finance, Investment Management, Securities and Investment Management, Political Science, International Relations and Diplomacy OR related areas of specialization, with at least twelve (12) years of cognate experience in teaching and research, preferably in a university system or similar institutions;
  • Successful candidates should be able to develop new programmes, conduct research independently and have proven supervisory and administrative capabilities and must also show evidence of acceptable scholarly publications in reputable National and International journals;
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory;
  • candidates are expected to have excellent knowledge about the operation of a university system; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.1.2​Associate Professor

3.1.4 ​Lecturer I

  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Sociology, Criminology, Security Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Intelligence, Mass Communication, Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Taxation, Finance, Investment Management, Securities and Investment Management, Political Science, International Relations and Diplomacy OR related areas of specialization, with at least three years post qualification experience and should demonstrate ability to carry out research in their areas of specialization.
  • Possession of a PhD is an added advantage.
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.
    3.1.5 Lecturer II
  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in relevant areas with at least two (2) years Teaching/Research experience.
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.1.6​Assistant Lecturer

  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in relevant areas with at least one (1) year Teaching/Research experience.
  • Computer knowledge and application are mandatory; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.2​Faculty of Science and Computing
3.2.1 Professor

  • Candidates should possess PhD from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Computer Science, ICT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Forensic Science OR related areas of specialization, with at least twelve (12) years of cognate experience in teaching and research, preferably in a university system or similar institutions;

ii. Successful candidates should be able to develop new programmes, conduct research independently and have proven supervisory and administrative capabilities and must also show evidence of acceptable scholarly publications in reputable National and International journals;
iii. Candidates are expected to have fair knowledge about the operation of a university system; and
iv. Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.2.3​Senior Lecturer

  • Candidates should possess PhD from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Computer Science, ICT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Forensic Science OR related areas of specialization, with at least seven (7) years of cognate experience in teaching and research, preferably in a university system or similar institutions;
  • Successful candidates should be able to develop new programmes, conduct research independently and have proven supervisory and administrative capabilities and must also show evidence of acceptable scholarly publications in reputable National and International journals;
  • Candidates are expected to have fair knowledge about the operation of a university system; and
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.2.4​Lecturer I

  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following areas: Computer Science, ICT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Forensic Science OR related areas of specialization with at least five (5) years cognate experience and should demonstrate ability to carry out research in their areas of specialization.
  • Possession of a PhD is an added advantage.
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is also an added advantage.

3.2.5​Lecturer II

  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in relevant areas with at least two (2) years Teaching/Research experience.
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.2.6​Assistant Lecturer

  • Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in relevant areas with at least one (1) year Teaching/Research experience.
  • Membership of professional bodies (where applicable) is an added advantage.

3.2.7 Science Laboratory Technologist I
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) A HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant area obtained from a recognized institution, and evidence of computer literacy, plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, OR
b) A minimum of Third Class degree in relevant area obtained from a recognized institution, and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

In addition to (a) or (b) above, a candidate will be subjected to competency examination and interview.

3.3 Registry Department

3.3.1 Senior Administrative Officer/Executive Assistant to Vice Chancellor
Candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) LL.M. degree obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus at least 3 years post qualification experience, preferably in the administrative cadre of any public/private university or similar institutions.
b) A Master’s degree in Humanities obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy, plus at least 3 years post qualification experience, preferably in the administrative cadre of any public/private university or similar institutions.

Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to details is a requirement. Proficiency in written and oral English is an added advantage.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

3.3.2​Administrative Officer I
Candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) ​A Master’s degree in Humanities obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy.
b) ​LL.B. with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy.
c) A minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Humanities obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Proficiency in written and oral English is a requirement. Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.3.3. Administrative Assistant
Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Humanities or any other qualification approved by the Rayhaan University obtained from a recognized institution, NYSC Certificate and evidence of Computer Literacy. Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

3.3.4​Clerical Officer/Senior Clerical Officer/Assistant Executive Officer/Confidential Secretary
(a) For Senior Clerical Officer/Assistant Executive Officer, a candidate should possess a Diploma in Office Management, Public Administration or equivalent.
(b) For Confidential Secretary, candidate should possess a minimum of Diploma in Office Management or equivalent, plus at least 80/35 WPM certification
(c) For Clerical Officer, candidate should possess a minimum of a certificate in office management or equivalent.

3.4 Bursary Department

3.4.1 Accountant I
Candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance obtained from a recognized institution; or
b) A minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Accounting & Finance obtained from a recognized institution; plus at least two (2) years cognate experience.

In addition to a) or b) above, evidence of Computer Literacy is mandatory. Possession of any professional qualification in Accounting (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CPA, etc.) is an added advantage.

Candidate shall also be subjected to interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.4.2 Clerical Officer (Accounts)/Senior Clerical Officer (Accounts)/Assistant Executive Officer (Accounts)

a) For Clerical Officer (Accounts), candidate should possess a minimum of certificate in Accounting and Auditing or equivalent;
b) For Senior Clerical Officer/Assistant Executive Officer (Accounts) candidate should possess a minimum of Diploma in Accounting and Auditing or its equivalent.

In addition to a) or b) above, evidence of computer literacy is mandatory. Candidate shall also be subjected to interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.5 University Library

3.5.1 Senior Library Officer
Candidate shall possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Library and Information Science, Library Science Management or equivalent obtained from a recognized institution, plus a minimum of 3 years cognate experience.
Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.5.2 Higher Library Officer
Candidate shall possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Library and Information Science, Library Science Management or HND in Library Science or equivalent obtained from a recognized institution, and be conversant in Information Technology (IT). ICT competency is compulsory.

3.5.3 Library Officer
Candidate shall possess a minimum of Diploma in Library and Information Science Management, Library Science or equivalent obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.6 University Health Centre (Clinic)

3.6.1 Medical Officer
Candidate shall possess MBBS degree obtained from a recognized institution, a minimum of one year internship training, NYSC Certificate, full registration with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and evidence of Computer Literacy.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing and ICT competency examination.

3.6.2 Staff Nurse (Nursing Officer II)
Candidate shall possess registered Nurse certification plus full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and evidence of Computer Literacy.

Candidate shall be subjected to interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.6.3 Medical Laboratory Scientist II​
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) A HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in Medical Laboratory Sciences or relevant areas obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy; plus at least one-year relevant experience.
b) A degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other relevant degree obtained from a recognized institution, and evidence of Computer Literacy; plus at least one-year relevant experience.

In addition to (a) and (b) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.6.4​Laboratory Technician
A candidate shall possess OND in relevant area obtained from a recognized institution and be conversant with knowledge of Information Technology (IT).

3.6.5​Pharmacy Technician ​
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) A OND in Pharmaceutical Studies obtained from a recognised institution and be conversant with Information Technology (IT).
b) A Pharmacy Technician Certificate obtained from a recognized institution, Registration with the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) and be conversant with Information Technology (IT).

In addition to (a) or (b) above, a candidate will be subjected to competency examination and an interview.

3.7 Directorate of Information & Communication Technology

3.7.1 Network Engineer
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any relevant discipline with a minimum of second class lower division obtained from a recognized University with at least two (2) years relevant experience in networking, or
b) Any relevant and recognised entry-level network certifications such as CISCO, HUAWEI, Mikrotik, etc. with at least two (2) years relevant experience in networking

In addition to (a) or (b) above, a candidate will be subjected to competency examination and an interview.

3.7.2 Software Developer
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any relevant discipline with a minimum of second class lower division obtained from a recognized University with at least two (2) years relevant experience in software development, or
b) Any relevant and recognised entry-level software certifications such as IEEE’s Certified Software Developer, Microsoft Certified Software Developer, etc with at least two (2) years relevant experience in software development.

3.7.3 Computer Operator (Laboratory Technician)
A candidate shall possess a minimum of a 2 year recognized Diploma in computer science or any relevant professional certification in related areas obtained from a recognized certification body, plus three (3) years relevant working experience.

3.8 Academic Planning Unit
Academic Planning Officer I
A candidate should possess any of the following qualification:
a) Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Education Administration and Planning or any related area obtained from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years post qualification cognate experience, plus evidence of Computer literacy.
b) First Degree not below second class honours (lower division) in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Education Administration and Planning or any related area obtained from a recognized institution, with at least five (5) years post qualification cognate experience, plus evidence of Computer literacy.

In addition to a) or b) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.

3.9 Internal Control (Audit) Unit:
Internal Control Officer I
A candidate shall possess any of the following requirements:
a) A minimum of Second Class Honours degree (Lower Division) in Accounting and Professional Qualification in Accounting obtained through qualifying examination (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CPA) and evidence of Computer Literacy;
b) A Master’s degree in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution, and evidence of Computer Literacy;
c) A minimum of minimum of Second Class Honours degree (lower division) in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution and evidence of Computer Literacy with a minimum of 3 years relevant post-graduation experience.

In addition to a), (b) and c) above, a candidate shall be subjected to an interview that may require writing competency examination.
