Rivers State Chief of Staff Chidi Amadi has resigned his position following the crisis rocking the State between FCT Minister Wike and Gov Fubara.

Chidi Amadi is the cousin to Former Rivers State Governor and Former Minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Recall that PitakwaNews reported that there were unconfirmed rumors last week that Ehie Edison is the new chief of staff in Rivers State. However neither the Rivers State Government has debunked such statements.

FCT Minister Wike’s Concerns Over A Threat To His Power Structure

In the intricate game of Rivers State politics, godfatherism has long been the prevailing challenge. The control of power by influential factions has dictated the course of governance, with FCT Wike at the forefront. However, recent developments have raised concerns for Wike regarding a potential threat to his power structure. Minister Wike believes that Governor Sim Fubara is making deliberate attempts to dismantle the very foundations that have granted him considerable authority.

The existing structure, carefully constructed by Wike’s political maneuvering and alliances, has allowed him to maintain a stronghold over Rivers State politics. The appointment of Governor Fubara as the governor of Rivers State by former Governor Wike was a strategic move aimed at preserving this power structure. It demonstrated his intent to ensure continuity and protect his interests in the face of political uncertainties.
