Court Restrains Police From Arresting Rivers Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie
In a political stunt a State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has restrained the Police from arresting, detaining, and harassing the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government House, Edison Ehie.
Justice S. H Aprioku granted the motion filed by Mr Ehie who asked the court to restrain the police or other security agencies from arresting him over his alleged involvement in the invasion of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Our correspondent reports that the matter was adjourned to February 6 for a hearing of the substantive application. As you may know, the Martin Amaewhule-led State House of Assembly had written criminal petitions against Edison Ehie to the State Police Command following the invasion and burning of the Assembly chambers by hoodlums.
