President Tinubu Mourns The Death Of Access Bank Owner Herbert Wigwe

President Tinubu has expresses sadness over the death of access bank founder and Wigwe University, Herbert Wigwe over his death.

Herbert Wigwe died together with her Wife and Son in a plane crashed on Friday at Nevada, California.

President Tinubu in a statement said “I am shocked and deeply distressed by the news of the passing of Mr. Herbert Wigwe, a distinguished banker, humanitarian, and entrepreneur, and Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, along with members of the Wigwe family – Herbert’s wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizi.

Their passing is an overwhelming tragedy that is shocking beyond comprehension.

I extend my condolences to the Wigwe and Ogunbanjo families, the business community, and all those impacted by this harrowing incident.

I pray for the peaceful repose of the departed and ask God Almighty to comfort the multitude of Nigerians who are grieving and the families of the deceased at this deeply agonizing moment.

Wigwe was on board the crashed chopper with his wife Dame Chizoba Wigwe and son, who were on their way to Las Vegas after a business meeting to watch a Super Bowl game.

Reports have stated that mogul, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group) was also on board.

The United States Federal Aviation Administration has affirmed that 6 people were onboard the crashed chopper and no survivor has been recorded.

However, investigations have commenced as to why the chopper crashed so sudden, as the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have sent investigative teams to the crash site of the Airbus H130 copter.

This is the third crash being recorded in the US this week and just 3 days after 5 marines were killed in a helicopter crash in San Diego.
