Rivers State High Court Sentence Five to Death For Murder
A State High Court in Port Harcourt has convicted and sentenced five persons to death by hanging or administered lethal injection until they are confirmed dead for killing an OSPAC commander Alex Umuezuruike in Omudioga community, Emohua Local Government Area.
The convicts, Okechukwu Orji, Promise Igwe, Morrison Igwe, Goodness Monday, and Ifeanyi Igwe were found guilty of ten counts bordering on armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms, murder, cultism, and conspiracy, among others.
The trial judge, Justice S.H Aprioku, also discharged and acquitted the sixth defendant in the matter, Alex Diwe.
Recall that the late OSPAC commander, Alex Umuezuruike, was killed in 2021 by gang members for fighting against criminal activities in the Omudioga community.
