Bobrisky to Know His Fate Tomorrow

Bobrisky Arraigned Pleads Guilty To Naira Abuse

Bobrisky is scheduled to appear at the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 9, 2024, for his sentencing following his conviction on charges of Naira abuse. This court appearance is in line with the court’s decision to reserve judgment on the case until this date, as stated by Justice Abimbola Awogboro.

The charges against Bobrisky include tampering with the sum of N400,000 by spraying it at a social event, an offense punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007, among other charges. The court has ordered that Bobrisky be remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until his sentencing on April 9, 2024.

Bobrisky Offense

Bobrisky, a prominent Nigerian social media personality, has been convicted for abusing the Naira, Nigeria’s currency, in a case that has garnered significant attention. The conviction follows her appearance at the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 5, 2024, where she pleaded guilty to four counts of currency abuse.

The charges stem from a practice known as “spraying” money, where bank notes are thrown in the air as a sign of appreciation, which is technically an offense as the notes then fall to the ground and can be trodden on. This act is considered a violation of the Central Bank Act 2007. Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and was remanded in their custody until her sentencing on April 9, 2024.

The charges against her include tampering with the sum of N400,000 by spraying it at a social event, an offense punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007, among other charges. Bobrisky faces a potential penalty of six months imprisonment, a fine of N50,000, or both, based on the provisions of the law.
