Rivers state Government to set up panel of inquiry to investigate the runnings of Government in the past
The Rivers State Government, under the leadership of Governor Sim Fubara, has announced the establishment of a Panel of Inquiry to investigate the operations of the past 8 years under the administration of former Governor Wike. This decision was made public during the swearing-in ceremony of Hon. Dagogo Iboroma as the Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice. Governor Fubara has charged the newly sworn-in Commissioner to ensure that the panel’s activities are conducted with utmost diligence and transparency.
This move by the Rivers State Government follows a precedent set by other states, such as Kaduna, which have also set up similar investigative bodies to probe the actions of previous administrations. The aim of these panels is to examine the financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the government during the specified period, with the objective of ensuring accountability and transparency in governance.
The establishment of this panel has sparked significant interest and discussion among the public and political circles, with many anticipating the outcome of the inquiry and its potential implications for the state’s governance and political landscape.
