Photos: Governor Fubara Marks First Year in Office With Road Project

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has marked his first year in office with a significant road project, the reconstruction of the Aleto-Ebubu-Eteo (Old Port Harcourt-Bori) Road. This initiative is part of a series of projects planned by the Rivers State Government to commemorate Governor Fubara’s first year in office, reflecting a commitment to infrastructural development and public welfare.

The Aleto-Ebubu-Eteo road, which serves as an alternative route to the Eleme axis of the East-West Road, was commissioned by Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti. This event highlights not only the completion of a vital road project but also the collaboration and solidarity between neighboring states in the pursuit of shared development goals.

Governor Fubara’s administration has outlined an ambitious 20-day programme to celebrate his first year in office. This includes the inauguration of 10 major projects across various local government areas in the state. These projects are aimed at improving the state’s infrastructure, boosting economic growth, and enhancing the well-being of residents. The activities commenced on May 14th and are scheduled to conclude on June 1st, with the Port Harcourt International Marathon being a notable highlight.

The first year anniversary celebration also features an accountability forum on May 29th, where Governor Fubara will present his performance report to the public, inviting scrutiny and feedback from journalists and the wider community. This move underscores the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

In addition to infrastructural development, the anniversary plans include a series of events aimed at fostering community engagement and social welfare. These include Children’s Day celebrations, a youth development program, and a state banquet commemorating both the Fubara’s first year in office and the 57th anniversary of the state’s creation.

Governor Fubara’s first year in office is marked by a blend of infrastructural development, community engagement, and a commitment to transparency. These initiatives reflect a broader vision for the state’s development and set a promising tone for the years to come.
