Caro White Is Unsafe To Be Used On Your Skin Says NAFDAC

Caro White, the once-popular skin-lightening product, has found itself in a bit of a pickle. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to Nigerians about the potential dangers of using Caro White Skin Lightening Beauty Lotion. It turns out that the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Dangerous Non-Food Products (RAPEX) has recalled the product due to its high concentration of Kojic Acid, which surpasses the allowable maximum concentration of one percent as set by the EU’s Cosmetic Products Regulation.

NAFDAC has emphasized that even though the product is not listed in their database, it is essential for all stakeholders, including importers, distributors, retailers, and consumers, to exercise caution. They have advised people who have the product to stop using it immediately and to submit any existing stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

Additionally, NAFDAC has urged healthcare professionals and consumers to report any adverse events related to the use of this product to the nearest NAFDAC office. This recall is quite significant, as it raises concerns about the potential endocrine-disrupting properties associated with the product’s high concentration of Kojic Acid.

So, if you’re thinking about using Caro White to lighten your skin, you might want to think twice and consider safer alternatives. After all, as the saying goes, “beauty is only skin deep,” and it’s not worth risking your health for the sake of a lighter complexion.
