VeryDarkBlackMan Faces Police Custody

The saga surrounding VeryDarkMan, also known as Martins Vincent Otse, is a tale that intertwines the realms of social media, celebrity, and the law. On May 22, 2024, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the remand of VeryDarkMan in police custody. This decision came after he pleaded not guilty to five charges of cyberbullying involving Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, as well as the Nigeria Police Force and members of the National Assembly.

The charges against VeryDarkMan are related to his activities on social media, particularly Instagram, where he allegedly posted videos containing false information. The posts in question accused King Tonto Dikeh of criminal conversion of the proceeds of crowd funding for the Justice for Mohbad Movement and being the person behind the gistlover blog. Additionally, he was accused of cyberstalking for making statements that were intended to cause annoyance, inconvenience, danger, insult, injury, criminal intimidation, enmity, hatred, ill will, or needless anxiety to the persons of the DIGs of the Nigeria Police Force and members of the National Assembly.
