Stand On Your Ground Be Unshakable You Are The Political Leader In Rivers State Say Odili

In a significant show of support, former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili, has publicly backed Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid a political rift with Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and Fubara’s predecessor. This endorsement came during the inauguration of the Omoku-Egbema Road in Rivers State on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Odili assured Fubara that he has the support of the people and encouraged him not to fear anyone.

Odili, who served as Rivers State Governor from May 1999 to May 2007, praised Fubara for his focus on people-oriented objectives and the projects he has initiated so far. He emphasized that these efforts are enough to secure the people’s support for the 2027 election. This support comes at a time when Fubara and Wike are embroiled in a political tussle for control of Rivers State.

The conflict between Fubara and Wike has been escalating, with Wike previously warning that he and his camp would be undefeatable in the 2027 election due to an alliance between the PDP and APC in Rivers State. Despite this, Odili has maintained his support for Fubara, declaring him as the political leader of the state.

This endorsement is seen as a significant boost for Fubara in his political battle with Wike. Odili has previously praised Fubara for defending the interests of the Rivers state people and for his achievements since taking office. He has also urged Fubara to stand firm with the President, align with his policies, and carry Rivers people to the engine room of government in the Federal Republic in Abuja.

The political situation in Rivers State remains tense, with the conflict between Fubara and Wike showing no signs of abating. However, with Odili’s backing, Fubara may have gained a significant advantage in this power struggle.
