The actress, 78, admitted her home in Los Angeles was “robbed once” recently while she was out to dinner for a few hours with Kurt Russell, her partner of over 40 years.
“What if we couldn’t live in LA, where would we live? We both decided, I think it’s Palm Desert. … It’s so safe,” Hawn reminisced about her dream location to plant new roots while appearing on the SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.“
Goldie Hawn, the beloved Hollywood actress, recently revealed her distressing experiences with home invasions during an interview on Kelly Ripa’s podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera.” The incidents occurred at her Los Angeles home, which she shares with her longtime partner, Kurt Russell.
The first break-in happened in 2020 when Hawn and Russell returned home from a dinner outing. They discovered that intruders had entered their bedroom and closets, managing to break down a secure door in the process. Hawn described the burglars as “very, very sophisticated,” indicating that they were able to steal some of her personal belongings.
The second incident occurred four months later, while Hawn was alone at home with her dog. She heard a loud thump upstairs and later found out that someone had attempted to break into her bedroom again. This experience left her shaken and concerned for her safety.
In response to these events, Hawn has decided to have security guards present, especially when she is alone. She expressed her feelings about the current state of Los Angeles, stating that “LA is terrible” due to the crime rate.
Goldie Hawn’s story highlights the growing concern over home invasions and property crimes in Los Angeles. According to Los Angeles Police Department statistics, there has been an increase in property crimes in recent years. This has left many residents, including celebrities like Hawn, feeling vulnerable and unsafe in their own homes.
