Steps on How to Retrieve Your Money Back From Heritage Bank and Others

To retrieve your money from Heritage Bank, follow these steps:

  1. Verify Your Account Details: Ensure your account has up-to-date identification details recorded with Heritage Bank. This is crucial for receiving an Inward Telegraphic Transfer.
  2. Contact Heritage Bank: Reach out to Heritage Bank to confirm that your account is properly set up for receiving an Inward Telegraphic Transfer.
  3. Complete the Online Form: Use the online form provided by Convera to get the necessary details to share with your sender for the transfer.
  4. Provide Accurate Bank Details: Make sure to accurately provide the bank account number where you want the funds transferred. Convera and Heritage Bank do not cross-check the account number with the account name.
  5. Deposit the Funds: Deposit the amount into the dedicated Convera account in your local currency, not in AUD. Instruct the bank teller to include the “Payment Notes” in the bank’s reference field as specified in the PDF deposit instructions.
  6. Wait for Conversion and Transfer: The remitter should send the funds in their own currency, which Convera will convert into Australian Dollars before forwarding to Heritage Bank for credit to your account.
  7. Check for Receipt: Funds will typically be credited to your account within four business days, although this is not guaranteed and can vary depending on the country of origin.
  8. Alternate Accounts: If you have an alternate bank account within the industry, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) will use your Bank Verification Number (BVN) to locate your alternate account and pay up to the insured amount of ₦5 million.
  9. Visit a Heritage Bank Branch: If you don’t have an alternate bank account, visit the nearest branch of Heritage Bank with proof of account ownership, verifiable means of identification, and your alternate account details. This will facilitate the verification of your deposits and subsequent payment of insured sums.
  10. Online Claims: You can also file an online claim on the NDIC website by downloading and filling the claims forms and uploading the required documentation.

Remember to keep all relevant documents and proof of identification handy during this process.
