Mohbad’s Autopsy Result: A Family’s Quest for Truth Amidst Controversy

The family of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has rejected the result of the autopsy conducted on the body of their beloved son. The autopsy, which was performed at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), failed to ascertain the cause of Mohbad’s death, leaving the family with more questions than answers.

According to the autopsy report, samples of the gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung of the late Afrobeats musician were retrieved for a toxicology test. However, no significant gross findings could be attributed to Mohbad’s death. The report suggested a possibility of drug reaction in the wake of any significant post-mortem and toxicology findings.

The family’s legal representatives, Wahab Shittu and Taiwo Odumosu, expressed their dissatisfaction and disappointment with the outcome of the toxicology test results, which were declared inconclusive by the pathologist. They raised concerns about the integrity and thoroughness of the investigation by the police and the medical team into Mohbad’s untimely death.

The lawyers wondered how the letterhead and the address of the National Medical Services Laboratories in Pennsylvania, USA, appeared on the toxicology test report if the test was not truly conducted there. They called for a thorough review of the procedures and protocols followed during the initial toxicology testing, including an assessment of the chain of custody, handling, and analysis of the samples to ensure that no procedural lapses or contamination occurred.

In addition, the family demanded that the personal intervention of the Inspector General of Nigeria Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, be sought to unravel the circumstances that surrounded Mohbad’s death and bring the perpetrators to book. They also called for the re-examination of the case with the utmost transparency and adherence to the highest standards of forensic science.

The rejection of the autopsy result by Mohbad’s family has sparked a renewed interest in the case, with many calling for a new probe to determine the actual cause of the singer’s death. The family’s quest for truth and justice continues, and they have vowed not to rest until the truth is revealed and justice is served, particularly in the memory of the late Mohbad.
