Tyla and Tems Shine at the 2024 BET Awards
At the 2024 BET Awards held at Los Angeles’s Peacock Theater on Sunday night, South African artist Tyla and Nigerian singer Tems emerged as big winners.
Tyla, known for her infectious pop melodies and vibrant energy, won the awards for Best New Artist and Best International Act. This marks a significant achievement in her rising career and underscores her exceptional talent and the global appeal of her music.
Tems, on the other hand, won the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for her 2023 song “Me & U”, beating top stars like Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Maverick City Music, and others. This is Tems’ fourth BET Award, following her 2022 wins for Best International Act and Best Collaboration for her work on Wizkid’s “Essence”.
