Wike Challenges Senator Kingibe: “Go and Hug Transformer, You Will Not Return In 2027”

In a recent exchange of words, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed to unseat Senator Ireti Kingibe, the lawmaker representing the Federal Capital Territory at the National Assembly, in the 2027 general elections.

The exchange began when Senator Kingibe, who belongs to the Labour Party, appeared on Arise TV and criticized Wike for not doing enough in terms of education and healthcare in the FCT. She also claimed that the roads being constructed across the territory were not addressing the needs of the majority of the people.

In response, Wike, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenged Kingibe to mention what she has done to improve the well-being of the people in the FCT since she was elected. He vowed that Kingibe would not return to the National Assembly in 2027.

“If you are very popular, in 2027 come and run under Abuja, we will fail you,” Wike said during the inauguration of the construction of Mabushi Bus Terminal, Phase I, in Abuja.

The minister also took a swipe at Kingibe, saying that she was angry that people were praising his administration for the successes recorded in the FCT. He added that if Kingibe was angry with the praises they were receiving for doing a good job, “by next year, your blood pressure level will go very high.”

In a related development, Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the eighth national assembly, has sent a battle warning comment to Wike over his comment at an event recently. Sani accused Wike of speaking last at events to avoid responses to his comments.
