Rivers United Appoints Finidi George as New Technical Manager

Rivers United Football Club has officially announced the appointment of Finidi George as their new Technical Manager. The news was confirmed by the club through a tweet on their official Twitter account.

Finidi George, a former Super Eagles coach, will be taking over the reins at Rivers United. This appointment comes after his brief tenure with the Nigeria national team, where he served as head coach. Finidi George brings a wealth of experience to the role. He previously led Enyimba to a league title in the 2022/23 season. However, he resigned from his position as head coach of the Super Eagles after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) decided to appoint a foreign technical adviser to oversee the team.

Rivers United, who finished eighth on the NPFL log last season, sacked long-serving tactician Stanley Eguma towards the end of the campaign. The club is hopeful that Finidi George’s appointment will help them achieve success in the upcoming 2024/25 season.
