Minister Wike Leads Delegates From FCT to The Residence of Bukola Saraki

On July 5, 2024, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, along with his delegation, paid a condolence visit to Dr. Bukola Saraki, the former President of the Senate, at his Abuja residence. The visit was in honor of the passing of Saraki’s mother, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki.

The delegation included Senator Philip Aduda, who accompanied Minister Wike to express their condolences and support to the Saraki family during this time of mourning. The visit was part of a series of visits by various dignitaries and leaders to offer their sympathies to the former Senate President.

Earlier, on July 2, 2024, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accompanied by Senator Jibrin Barau, the Deputy Senate President, and other distinguished senators, also visited Saraki’s residence to offer their condolences. This visit was part of the Senate’s show of support and solidarity with one of its former leaders.

The late Florence Morenike Saraki, who passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 89, was a respected figure in her community. Her passing was mourned by many, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, who sent his condolences to the Saraki family. Buhari described Florence as a hardworking community leader whose kindness and thoughtfulness towards others is an inspiration and would be remembered.

Condolence Visit to Bukola Saraki on the Passing of His Mother

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the state branch of the Peoples Democratic Party also sent their condolences to the Saraki family. The Emir described the deceased as a wonderful mother, a great philanthropist, and a virtuous wife of Dr. Olusola Saraki, the late Waziri of Ilorin, whose contributions to humanity will forever be remembered.
