Victor Osimhen Nears Blockbuster Move to Paris Saint-Germain
In a stunning turn of events, Victor Osimhen, the prolific Nigerian striker, is on the verge of joining French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a blockbuster transfer that could reshape the landscape of European football.
According to multiple sources, including renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, PSG is advancing in talks with Osimhen’s camp, and the player is reportedly open to the move if the two clubs can agree on a fee. This development comes after months of speculation linking the 25-year-old with a move away from Napoli, where he has been a key figure since joining in 2020.
Osimhen, who scored 15 goals and provided 3 assists in 25 Serie A appearances last season, has a release clause of €130 million in his current Napoli contract, which expires in 2025. However, the Italian club has been reluctant to lower their asking price for the Nigerian, despite his contract situation.
PSG, on the other hand, is reportedly willing to meet Napoli’s demands and is set to offer Osimhen a salary of €12 million per year. The French club is also said to be leading the race for the striker’s signature, with Chelsea and Al-Hilal previously linked with a move for the player.
The potential transfer comes at a time when PSG is looking to strengthen its attacking options, following the departure of Kylian Mbappe, who informed the club of his intention to leave this summer. Osimhen’s arrival would provide a significant boost to the Ligue 1 side, which has already signed the likes of Goncalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele, and Marco Asensio in recent months.
Napoli, meanwhile, is reportedly keen to resolve Osimhen’s future by July 25, according to Sport Mediaset. If the striker does leave the Italian club, it is expected that Romelu Lukaku could be set for a reunion with Antonio Conte, with Napoli reportedly set to offer €25 million for the Chelsea forward.
As the negotiations between PSG and Napoli continue, the football world eagerly awaits the outcome of this transfer saga. One thing is for certain: if Osimhen does indeed join PSG, it would be a move that could have far-reaching consequences for both clubs and the player himself.
