Meghan and Harry Set to Embark on Official Visit to Colombia

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are set to embark on an official visit to Colombia at the invitation of the country’s Vice President, Francia Márquez. The visit, scheduled for later this year, will see the royal couple touring the South American nation, visiting the capital city of Bogotá, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali.
During their trip, the Duke and Duchess will have the opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress. In addition to these meaningful interactions, they will also experience the rich heritage of Colombia.
The visit comes after Prince Harry and Meghan’s successful three-day visit to Nigeria in May, where they focused on mental health initiatives for young people and promoted the Invictus Games, which the African country participated in for the first time in Düsseldorf.
The Archewell Foundation, founded by the Duke and Duchess, is renowned for its global leadership in fostering a safer online environment. During their visit to Colombia, they will engage in several activities related to cyberbullying, online exploitation, and the mental health impacts of these threats.
The forthcoming conference will unveil a comprehensive framework for creating safer physical and digital spaces, tackling issues such as cyberbullying, online exploitation, and the mental health impacts of these threats.
“As the Vice President of Colombia and Minister of Equality and Equity, I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country,” said Francia Márquez in a statement.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been active in their philanthropic work since stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020. They founded the Archewell Foundation, which focuses on uplifting communities, building a better online world, and restoring trust in information.
The visit to Colombia is expected to be a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the world.
