Jose Mourinho’s Message to Fenerbahce Fans
Jose Mourinho, the legendary Portuguese coach, has sent a heartfelt message to the Fenerbahce fans following his appointment as the club’s new head coach. In his message, Mourinho expressed his gratitude for the love and support he felt from the moment his name was first connected with the club.
“Normally, a coach is loved after victories. In this case, I feel that I am loved before victories,” Mourinho said. “Since the moment I met the president, I wanted to play for you because you are the soul of the football club.”
Mourinho also made it clear that his priority is not Turkish football, but Fenerbahce itself. “I want to work for Turkish football, I want to work for the Turkish league. I want to help to improve [it], but the most important thing for me is not Turkish football, it’s not the Turkish league, it’s Fenerbahce.”
The Portuguese coach has a reputation for bringing success wherever he goes, and Fenerbahce fans are hopeful that he will help the club end their 10-year wait for a Super Lig title.
Mourinho’s appointment as Fenerbahce’s new head coach was met with a rapturous welcome from the club’s fans. Thousands of fans packed into Sukru Saracoglu Stadium to watch him sign his contract.
“I want to thank you for your love, the love that I felt from the first moment where my name was first connected with Fenerbahce,” Mourinho said.
Mourinho is one of the most decorated managers in recent history, having previously managed Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United, among others. He has won league titles in England, Portugal, Italy, and Spain, and has also won four European trophies.
Fenerbahce finished second in the Turkish Super Lig last season, amassing 99 points, but lost out on the title to arch-rivals Galatasaray. Mourinho will be tasked with ending Fenerbahce’s 10-year wait for the Turkish title.
The Turkish giants boast the record for most Turkish league titles with 28, but they’ve not lifted the trophy since 2014. However, with Mourinho at the helm, there’s a feeling that Fenerbahce could be the team to beat next season.
