Trump wins North Carolina and Georgia as Pennsylvania remains too close to call
The Associated Press has called North Carolina and Georgia for Donald Trump, cementing the former president’s first swing state win in the 2024 race.
Most Election Day polling sites across the United States have closed and results and data are starting to come in. The presidential race in Pennsylvania, a key swing state for both candidate, is too close to call.
Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump need at least 270 electoral votes to win, but as was the case in 2020, we may not get the election results tonight. That’s because in a race that’s expected to be extraordinarily close, more votes will need to be counted before a winner can be projected.
Outside of the presidential race, Republicans flipped the U.S. Senate — winning control of the chamber for the first time in four years.
