Mbappe, Valverde and Bellingham on Score Sheet as Real Madrid Beat Leganes 3-0
Real Madrid cruised to a 3-0 win over Leganes in their latest La Liga clash, with Kylian Mbappe, Federico Valverde, and Jude Bellingham all finding the back of the net.
The win moves Real Madrid up to second in the La Liga table, four points behind leaders Barcelona, who drew 2-2 at Celta Vigo on Saturday.
Mbappe broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute, slotting home a low cross from Vinicius Junior. The Frenchman’s goal was his 10th of the season, and it marked the first time Vinicius has assisted Mbappe for Real Madrid.
Valverde doubled Real Madrid’s lead in the 66th minute with a fierce shot from outside the penalty box. The Uruguayan’s goal was his ninth from outside the box in the top five European leagues, a feat only bettered by Mbappe.
Bellingham sealed the win for Real Madrid in the 85th minute, heading into an empty net after a strike from Brahim Diaz had been deflected onto the crossbar.
The victory was a welcome boost for Real Madrid, who have been struggling with injuries in recent weeks. Valverde’s performance at right-back was particularly impressive, with the midfielder completing 56 of his 59 passes and scoring a brilliant goal.
Real Madrid’s attention will now switch to the Champions League, with Los Blancos heading to Liverpool on Wednesday night. They will then return to La Liga action at home to Getafe next Sunday.
