The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a statement clarifying the current status of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC). According to the company, the refinery has not yet commenced bulk sales of its products.

Olufemi Soneye, the Group Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, explained that the refinery’s products are currently being sold exclusively to the company’s retail stores. This move is aimed at ensuring that the products are made available to the general public through the company’s retail outlets.

Rehabilitation and Trucking of Petroleum Products

The PHRC recently began trucking out petroleum products after its rehabilitation. However, the company has not opened its purchase portal or started bulk sales. According to Soneye, the company is still finalizing essential processes before commencing bulk sales.

“It’s important to note that we are still in the process of finalizing our bulk sales process. We will make an official announcement once we are ready to commence bulk sales,” Soneye said.

Source of Petroleum Products

The NNPCL has also clarified that the petroleum products currently being sold by the company originate from the Dangote Refinery. The company has assured the public that the products are of high quality and meet the required standards.

The company has also stated that the prices of the petroleum products include applicable Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) fees.
