2025 BUDGET: GOVERNOR FUBARA ASSURES RIVERS PEOPLE OF PEOPLE-ORIENTED SPENDING
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has given assurance that the 2025 budget of N1.188 trillion is tailored to serve the best interests of the people of Rivers State. The budget, which is currently being prepared, prioritizes key areas such as education, healthcare, and agriculture.
Governor Fubara emphasized that the budget will focus on providing quality healthcare services, ensuring that children attend quality schools, and promoting agriculture to address unemployment and engage youths in productive activities.
“We are committed to delivering good governance, and our 2025 budget reflects this commitment,” Governor Fubara said. “We will prioritize the needs of our people, and ensure that every naira is spent to improve their lives.”
The Governor also addressed the recent defection of 25 lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that their seats were declared vacant on December 13, 2023, and will remain so.
“Despite the recent political developments, we remain focused on delivering our mandate to the people of Rivers State,” Governor Fubara said. “We will not be distracted by political maneuverings, but will instead continue to work tirelessly to improve the lives of our people.”
The 2025 budget is expected to be presented to the Rivers State House of Assembly in the coming weeks, where it will undergo scrutiny and debate before being passed into law.
Governor Fubara has called on the people of Rivers State to remain patient and supportive, assuring them that the budget will be implemented in a transparent and accountable manner.
