NEW CP RIVERS STATE, OLUGBENGA ADEPOJU PROMISES NOT TO BE POLITICAL
The Rivers State Police Command has welcomed a new Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, who has pledged to remain apolitical in his duties. This promise is aimed at ensuring the police force remains neutral and focused on maintaining law and order in the state.
Adepoju made this commitment during the handover ceremony, where he took over from the outgoing Commissioner of Police, AIG Mohammed Bala. The new CP emphasized that his primary focus will be on tackling cultism, armed robbery, and communal clashes, which have been a menace to the state.
“I want to assure the people of Rivers State that the police will not tolerate kidnapping and other crimes. We will work tirelessly to ensure that the state is safe and secure for everyone,” Adepoju said.
He also vowed to build on the achievements of his predecessor, AIG Mohammed Bala, who highlighted his successes during the handover ceremony. Bala mentioned the rescue of 13 underage girls and the arrest of kidnappers and armed robbers as some of his notable achievements.
Adepoju praised Bala’s efforts and assured that he would sustain the peace and security achieved by his predecessor. He also called on the people of Rivers State to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order.
The new CP’s promise not to be political is a welcome development, as it is essential for the police to remain neutral and impartial in their duties. This will help to build trust between the police and the community, which is critical in maintaining peace and security.
As Adepoju settles into his new role, Rivers State residents will be watching closely to see how he delivers on his promises. The people of the state expect a lot from their police force, and Adepoju’s leadership will be crucial in meeting these expectations.
With his commitment to tackling crime and maintaining law and order, CP Olugbenga Adepoju is off to a good start. It is hoped that he will continue to prioritize the safety and security of Rivers State residents, and that his tenure will be marked by significant improvements in the state’s security landscape.
