The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration process has been marred by troubles, sparking outrage among prospective corps members. Many have taken to social media to express their frustration with the registration process, citing issues such as thumbprint errors, inability to print green cards, and incorrect information on their registration portal.

The NYSC registration portal opened on a specified date, and since then, prospective corps members have been facing numerous challenges. The issues range from technical problems to administrative errors, leaving many frustrated and anxious about their chances of being mobilized for the mandatory one-year national service.

“Some of us have been trying to register for days, but the portal is not responding,” said a prospective corps member, who wished to remain anonymous. “I’ve tried using different browsers, clearing my cache, and even changing my password, but nothing seems to work.”

Another prospective corps member, who identified herself as Amaka, expressed frustration with the thumbprinting process. “I’ve been trying to thumbprint for hours, but the system keeps saying ‘cannot connect to thumbprint server,'” she said. “I’ve tried restarting my system, updating my software, and even using a different thumbprint scanner, but nothing seems to work.”

The NYSC has advised prospective corps members to be patient and to try resolving the issues on their own before seeking help from accredited cyber cafes or NYSC officials. However, many have expressed frustration with the lack of clear guidance and support from the NYSC.

“We understand that the NYSC is trying to make the registration process easier, but it seems like they’re not doing enough to address the issues we’re facing,” said a prospective corps member, who identified himself as Emmanuel. “We need clear guidance and support to resolve these issues, or else many of us will miss the deadline for registration.”

The NYSC has assured prospective corps members that the issues will be resolved soon. In a statement on its website, the NYSC said, “We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the technical issues with the registration portal. We are working tirelessly to resolve the issues and ensure that all prospective corps members can register successfully.”

However, many prospective corps members remain skeptical, citing past experiences with the NYSC registration process. “I registered for NYSC three years ago, and I remember the same issues occurring then,” said a prospective corps member, who identified herself as Nneoma. “It seems like the NYSC hasn’t learned from its past mistakes, and that’s why we’re facing these issues again.”

As the registration deadline approaches, prospective corps members are anxiously waiting for the NYSC to resolve the issues. Many have expressed fear that they may miss the deadline for registration, which could affect their chances of being mobilized for national service.

“We urge the NYSC to take immediate action to resolve the issues with the registration portal,” said a prospective corps member, who identified himself as Chukwuebuka. “We’re counting on the NYSC to make the registration process smoother and more efficient, so we can focus on preparing for our national service.”
