PDP Accepts Rivers State Court Judgment, Affirms Ewor-led State Exco

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accepted the judgment of the Rivers State High Court, which nullified the Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses held in Rivers State in July and August 2024.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has affirmed the Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor-led Rivers State Executive to lead the party’s affairs in Rivers State. This decision is in line with the court’s judgment delivered on January 13, 2025.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP commended the court’s decision, stating that it reaffirms the party’s commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and the rule of law.

“The NWC commends the decision of the court which reaffirms the famed position of the PDP as the bastion of transparency in the due process of internal democracy and strict adherence to the Rule of Law and Party Guidelines in the conduct of Congresses and other activities,” the statement read.

The PDP has called on its leaders, stakeholders, members, and supporters to work with the Ewor-led executive to ensure the party’s unity, stability, and success in Rivers State.

The party has also charged the Ewor-led executive to unite the party and ensure that the people of Rivers State continue to enjoy the benefits of democracy under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“The NWC charges the Ewor-led Rivers State Executive to work hard to further unite the Party in the State so that the people of Rivers State can continue to enjoy the massive dividends of democracy as being delivered by our performing governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, in line with the manifesto and policy thrust of the PDP,” the statement added.

The PDP has commended its members in Rivers State for their steadfastness and unshaken belief in the party’s ideals.

“The NWC commends all members of the PDP in Rivers State for their steadfastness and unshaken belief in the ideals of the Party as a truly democratic and all-inclusive Party guided only by the collective Will, yearning and aspiration of the people,” the statement concluded.
