Portable Pleaded Not Guilty, Granted 2 Million Bail

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was arraigned at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He faced charges for allegedly assaulting government officials during an enforcement exercise at his bar in the Sango Ota area.

The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development visited Portable’s bar for an enforcement exercise. However, the exercise turned violent, and the officials were reportedly injured. Nine of Portable’s associates were arrested in connection with the incident.

Portable initially evaded capture but later surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was then transferred to Ogun State, where he appeared in court the following morning.

The Charges Against Portable

Portable’s associates were previously arraigned on February 6, 2025, on a five-count charge, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. It is expected that Portable will face similar charges.
