Nigeria Beat Bafana Bafana on Penalties, Becomes The First Team to Reach AFCON 2023 Finals

Nigeria is on the verge to win their 4th AFCON title after 11 years. The Bafana Bafana were beaten by the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a Semifinals competition on penalties. The Super Eagles will play DR Congo or Ivory Coast in the AFCON finals match on the 11th of February.

Nigeria broke the deadlock on the 2nd half from Troost Ekong opened scoring from the penalty spot.

The South Africa leveled up, after a VAR check and awarded the Bafana Bafana a penalty. 

This is South Africa’s 49th AFCON Competition.

After extra time the game ended in a penalty shootout, were the Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties
