We Killed 2baba But We Are Still Searching For The Body – Rivers Police

The Rivers State Police said it has killed the wanted killer of SP Bako in a gun battle in Okogbe Town and Odiokwu Community after destroying pipeline, however the Rivers Police in a statement issued after the killing of 2baba that they are searching for the body of 2baba after he was gunned down by the police in a gun battle.

Spokesperson of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement said operatives raided the camp of the wanted suspect, Gift Okpara, popularly known as 2baba and despite a fierce gun battle, 2baba and his gang escaped. 

The statement however said intelligence confirmed 2baba’s death after he lost consciousness and resuscitation attempts failed. It said the raid came after 2baba and his gang attacked Okogbe Town and Odiokwu Community, destroying pipelines early on Saturday morning. 

Residents of Ahoada community upon hearing the news of 2baba’s death were seen rejoicing. A lady who was anonymous told our correspondent that she was happy over the death of 2baba, because she has received several letters from 2baba threatening her life. She said the last sms she got was from 2baba requesting she pays a ransom. The account name bears the name Gift Okpara.
