NAFDAC Arrest One, Shut Down 2 Water Sachet Factories in Aluu

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC says it has arrested one person and shut down two sachet water factories in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State for producing untreated and unregistered sachet water.

Public Relations Officer NAFDAC, South-South Zone Port Harcourt, Cyril Monye, in a statement, said one of the factories located at Omuokiri, Aluu, was producing water in an unhygienic environment and the facility was not approved or registered by NAFDAC.

He said another unregistered factory around the same location was discovered to be cloning two registered sachet water products.
