Police Dismiss Officer Over Extortion In Rivers State

The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested a man identified as Michael Chidozie, for allegedly beating and strangling his wife, a mother of three in their residence in Mile 4, Port Harcourt.

It was gathered that the victim, Ufuoma Chidozie allegedly died from injuries sustained from the beating on Tuesday. An eyewitness told newsmen that the victim’s husband called his brother-in-law to come to his house saying there was an emergency, but fled before his in-law arrived.

Spokesperson of the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said the suspect is now in detention and an investigation is ongoing.
