Naira abuse: Cubana Chief Priest pleads not guilty, as Court grant him 10million bail

Naira Abuse Cubana Chief Priest Pleads Not Guilty As Court Grant Him 10million Bail

Cubana Chief Priest, the nightlife impresario and Instagram celebrity also known as Pascal Okechukwu, has found himself in a bit of a pickle with the law. He was recently arraigned on three counts related to the abuse of the naira, which is a big no-no according to the Central Bank Act of 2007. This all went down on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel in Lagos, where he allegedly tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 notes by spraying them for an extended period.

Fast forward to April 17, 2024, and Cubana Chief Priest appeared in the Federal High Court in Lagos State, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court, being in a forgiving mood, granted him bail in the sum of N10m with two sureties in like sum. So, it looks like Cubana Chief Priest will be able to enjoy his freedom, albeit with a slightly lighter wallet, while he awaits the conclusion of his trial.

In the meantime, let’s all remember to treat our naira notes with the respect they deserve and refrain from any impromptu currency showers at social events. After all, we wouldn’t want to end up in a courtroom facing a stern judge and a sea of cameras, would we?
