Stand For What is True, Gov Fubara Charges PDP Caucus

Governor Fubara Says 75 Percent Of Primary Schools Have No Teachers 90 Percent Dilapidated

Governor Siminalayi Fubara recently addressed the PDP Caucus, urging them to stand for what is true amidst the political turmoil in Rivers State. This turmoil includes the conflict between Fubara and his political mentor, Nyesom Wike, which escalated to the point of the attempted impeachment of Governor Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly on October 30. The situation was exacerbated by the division within the PDP, as evidenced by the court remanding five of Fubara’s loyalists at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Despite the challenges, Governor Fubara has continued to engage with the PDP leadership, attending the 98th session of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the party’s Wadata Plaza National Secretariat in Abuja on April 18, 2024. This meeting was significant as it was his first appearance at the second highest decision-making organ of the party since becoming the Vice Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum.

The PDP has backed Fubara amidst the crisis, supporting his claim that the list of members of the Caretaker Committee for the party circulating in the media was fake. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP reiterated its support for the Rivers State Governor, emphasizing the party’s stance on the agreement reached regarding the issue.

Governor Fubara’s call for the PDP Caucus to stand for what is true reflects his determination to navigate the political storm in Rivers State and maintain unity within the party. He has demonstrated his commitment to governance and the welfare of Rivers State citizens by signing a contract with Julius Berger for the construction of the Port Harcourt Ring Road project, which is a significant infrastructure development for the state.

In summary, Governor Fubara’s message to the PDP Caucus emphasizes the importance of integrity and unity in the face of political challenges. His leadership in this tumultuous period seeks to ensure that the PDP remains a strong and united party, committed to serving the people of Rivers State and Nigeria at large.
