Jamb Releases 531 Additional UTME Results
In a recent development, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released an additional 531 results of the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). This announcement was made public on May 07, 2024, bringing the total number of released results to 1,842,897. These results were part of the over 64,000 withheld results due to cases of examination misconduct. The Board has been screening these withheld results to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
During this process, other cases of examination misconduct were also established, increasing the tally of such cases to 92 from the initial 81 discovered. This rigorous screening process is part of JAMB’s commitment to maintaining a fair and transparent examination system.
In light of the release, JAMB has also addressed some fallacious publications that falsely claimed an unknown candidate, who did not sit for the Board’s 2024 UTME, obtained scores. JAMB described these claims as fake, malicious, and a calculated attempt to undermine the Board’s integrity. It has challenged any candidate, parent, or anyone with such claims to prove them wrong by providing details of such claims and the phone number with which these results were supposedly conveyed.
To further ensure the authenticity and security of the UTME results, JAMB has announced plans to add more features like registration numbers to the existing result-checking process. This measure aims to make the process more personalized and difficult for anyone to manipulate results. For now, the method of checking the 2024 UTME results remains sending ‘UTMERESULT’ to 55019 or 66019 and not through any other process.
